I have to admit something. I am in LOVE with CVS. I think I want to marry it. Their ECB system is so easy to use and it makes me never want to step foot in a certain other drug store that I can’t seem to recall the name of right now. 
I made a quick run to CVS tonight and this is what I got:
3 Post Trail Mix Crunch=$10.00
2 Head & Shoulders =$9.98
3 CVS Pencils =$2.97
3 Tape Dispensers =$2.97
1 Pantiliners=$.89
Sub-Total: $28.31
Coupons I used:
$3/$15 coupon that I got from the coupon machine
(3) $2.00 off Trail Mix Crunch
B1G1 Free Head & Shoulders
$4.00 ECB I had
TOTAL: $10.32
And I got back $17.96 in ECBs!!! It should have only been $17.33 but the manager had to manually produce the ECBs for the tape and it printed out $5.00 instead of $4.47 but he didn’t want to re-do it and so he just let me have it. Score
A couple of things to remind you of:
Be sure and scan your Extra Care card every time you go in the store. Tonight it spit out $2.00 ECB (bonus!) and a $5/$25 coupon. And last time it gave me the $3/$15 coupon I used tonight.
Unlike other stores (I.E. Walgreens) CVS’ $/$$ coupons can be used BEFORE coupons. So if you have a $3/$15 coupon, for example, give that coupon first. This really helps to lower your OOP expenses.

CVS: Is Hawaiian Tropic the Only Good Deal?
I thought Walgreens was bad this week, but CVS is really bad this week. I don’t see any freebies, but maybe it’s because CVS had so many “free after coupon” deals that they needed a break too.
Your best bet may be Hawaiian Tropic sun lotion. The ad says get $10 Extra Care Bucks when you buy two bottles. It also says prices start at $8.99, yet CVS.com lists prices as low as $6.29. So, if you buy two of the $6.29 bottles and use two $2/1 printable coupons, you’ll walk away with two bottles for free plus $1+ overage after the $10 ECBs.
However, be on the lookout for smaller bottles or even travel-size tubes. If history is any indicator, you may be able to get $10 ECBs when spending just a few dollars on the travel bottles. I remember this was pretty much always the case last year. No guarantees, but it may be worth a try if you have time to browse CVS.
